機能を情緒的に見せる SOUBI BY TAKASHI TESHIMA のファッションは、いつ " 想定外の事態” が起きたとしても振り回されることなく、心と体を整えることができる現代のプロテクションウェアです。

ファッションとしての PPE

ブランドのコレクションソースになっているのは、防護服やマスク、グローブやブーツといった、過酷な状況で身を護るためのプロダクト、いわゆる PPE（Personal Protective Equipment＝個人用防護具）です。

PPE の素材が持つ構造や機能、質感を新たな角度で解釈し、それを元に " 精神的なプロテクション”としての世界観を描き出す、ファッションとしての PPE を表現します。

私は、長年プロダクトデザイナーとして、機能をひとつの指針にしながら様々なプロダクトをデザインしてきました。だからこそ今、人間のエモーショナルな側面に強く惹かれています。

様々なプロダクトに向き合ってきた中で言える確かなことは、「ファッションは、内面や感情といった精神的なことを、物理的に表現できる唯一のプロダクトである」ということです。

備えには、精神的なことも物理的なことも、どちらもが含まれています。それを装いで表現すること。それはきっと、機能と感情を媒介するファッションになるはず。袖を通した人は、そこにある少し異質な、それでいて不思議な調和に気がつくはずです。そして、ファッションの新しい楽しみ方を味わってほしい。そういった想いで活動しています。

SOUBI BY TAKASHI TESHIMA is a collection of protective wear fashion that expresses function with emotion. SOUBI allows the wearer to condition the body and mind, regardless of whatever unexpected scenarios that may come their way.

PPE as a fashion statement

The brand is inspired by PPEs (personal protective equipment) such as protective clothing, masks, gloves and boots that guard the human body from harsh conditions.

The brand reinterprets the structure, function and texture of PPE materials, and expresses PPE as fashion that prepares your mind.

TAKASHI TESHIMA / Designer

I’ve worked on various projects as a product designer for many years, focusing on function as a key guiding principle. This experience has led me to a strong interest in the emotional side of human beings.

As a long-time product designer, I can say one thing with certainty: fashion is the one and only product that can physically express our inner feelings.

When we shield ourselves from harm, we are protecting not just our body but also our mind. SOUBI seeks to express this by extending its protection to both the physical and the mental, thereby evolving fashion into a medium for function and emotion. When trying on our clothing, one will discover this slightly odd but harmonious balance. My hope is that SOUBI will bring to people a new way of enjoying fashion.
